This Privacy Policy explains how Skroll Media Inc. (“Skroll”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit skroll.net or contact us. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for residents of Quebec, Law 25. Skroll is the party responsible for the personal information described here.

Information we collect

We collect two kinds of information:

  • Information you give us. When you submit the contact form, subscribe to the newsletter, or email or call us, we collect your name, email address, phone number and any project details you send.
  • Information collected automatically. When you browse the site, our analytics and hosting tools collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and interactions. Some of this is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide our services.
  • To send the newsletter, if you asked for it, until you unsubscribe.
  • To measure how the site is used and improve its content and performance.
  • To keep the site secure and to meet legal and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. The third-party tools that may set cookies or receive data on this site are:

  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, for site analytics.
  • Google AdSense, which may show ads on the blog and use cookies to measure and personalize them.
  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site and keeps it secure.
  • Web3Forms, which processes contact-form submissions.
  • MailerLite, which manages newsletter subscriptions and sends the emails.

On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject these cookies. Until you accept, analytics and advertising cookies stay off. To change your choice later, clear this site's cookies in your browser and reload the page. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on, and manage ad personalization in your Google account. Blocking some cookies may change how parts of the site work.

Email and consent (CASL)

We send commercial email, such as the newsletter, only to people who ask for it. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. If you reply to an enquiry, we may email you about that project. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected].

How we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers listed above, and only so they can perform their function for us. Some of these providers are located in the United States, so your information may be processed outside Canada and be subject to the laws of that country. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and project information for as long as we need it to serve you and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements, then we delete or anonymize it. We keep newsletter details until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can withdraw consent to a use at any time. To make a request, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information.
